It is true that there are many countries, societies, and communities, which have many different languages and cultures around the world. In addition, apart from difference in the language, different cultures lead people to have dissimilar styles and habits in their lives. However, not only do people have dissimilarities, but they also have similarities in their cultures, like in a style of eating and respecting opposite sexes. Cultural differences distinguish the way people eat. Asian always eat their meals with rice, whereas Europeans eat their meal with bread, and Turkish people always eat plain yoghurt at every meal. Moreover, not only are the ways they eat different, but also the ways they cook are different. For example, Thai people will cook their foods with vegetable oil and eat with steamed rice, while Turkish people will cook rice with olive oil, meat, and vegetables together. Furthermore, Thai people always eat foods with steamed rice every meal including breakfast, while French or Turkish will eat bread, cereal, salad, and fruits for their breakfast. However, although the way people eat and cook are different, people in different countries agree about the importance of a meal. Most people in every country agree that breakfast is the most important meal for them but they do not have time to eat. To avoid the waste of time in a rush hour, they have to eat less in the morning and fulfill themselves at dinner time instead. Although Thai people eat rice with every meal, they will also eat less in the morning and eat more in the evening. Even so, Thai people normally have been eating rice as part of their meal for a long time; nowadays western culture has been unavoidably blended to Thai society from the economics and globalization, which has influenced Thai people to change their habits and eating habits to be more like westerners. Not only eating habits, influenced by their religions, people in different countries also tend to behave dissimilarly with women. Thai people will pay respect to women more than French and Turkish. For instance, if Thai people go to the club and find interesting women, they will go to talk with those women and might be dance with them but without touching or harassing women. On the contrary, in the same situation, the French will go to talk and automatically dance and touch women body as they usually do. Naturally, Asians are shyer than European to react with opposite sexes. Japanese people find it difficult to refuse to do something that they don’t want to do but others force them to do. In this case, while Japanese girl is dancing and one French man come to talk and dance with her, he will surely dance and caress Japanese girl as a style of dancing, even the girl does not like to be touched but they will not refuse it because they have been taught that refusal is impolite. Even the culture encourages people to act with opposite sexes in a different way, the globalization makes people to interact others in more multicultural ways. Asian people are now more confident to say and do what they want, while European people tend to respect women rights more than before. Although there are dissimilarities and similarities in the culture among countries in the world, people are welcome to accept the differences and try to adjust themselves to interact and communicate with others. As the result of globalization, different cultures tend to be blended together and generalize to be the same pattern which maybe in the future we will not apparently distinguish one culture from another easily.
